The late Mr. Bernstein was published in 2007 at the age of 96. In his memoir, The Invisible Wall: A Love Story That Broke Barriers, “Mr. Bernstein described a childhood [in a northern English mill town] defined by grinding poverty and the unspoken divide separating Jews and Christians living on opposite sides of the same working-class street.” Several more volumes followed and were published, too. Mr. Bernstein passed away on June 3rd in New York at the age of 101. Click here to read more about his inspiring, very-senior literary career.
