The Bob Baker Marionette Theater, founded by Bob Baker and Alton Wood in 1963, is the oldest children’s theater company in Los Angeles. In June 2009, the theater was designated as a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument. Baker, who just celebrated his 89th birthday, has been entertaining children and adults worldwide for more than seventy years. Although the theater has hit hard financial times lately, performances go on. A 9:36′ documentary about the theater is available here. Now playing: “Something to Crow About.” Tickets here.
