Maureen Kellen-Taylor, former C.O.O., has left EngAGE. Her important contributions to the mission of EngAGE and her many years of creative inspiration are greatly appreciated by the entire EngAGE team.
Dr. Kellen-Taylor joined the organization in 2002, bringing decades of experience in the field of Arts and Aging. In 1979, she founded and directed Artworks in San Francisco – a pioneering hospital-based program and another exemplary organization recognized by the National Endowment for the Arts – where she received Artist in Residence awards from the California Arts Council for five years. She taught in Lifelong Learning programs for over twelve years for several colleges and universities. While working as artist-in-residence in the San Francisco Public Schools, she integrated the arts into elementary and middle school curriculum. In 2003, she was invited to be a Resident Artist at Boreal Arts and Ecology Center, Quebec, Canada, to continue her explorations in Art, Nature, and Spirituality through environmental installations. In 2005, she received the Directors Award from the California Arts Council for a lifetime commitment to the Arts. Dr. Kellen-Taylor has exhibited work in England and the US. She earned an MA in Expressive Arts Therapy and a PhD for Integral Studies in Learning and Change in Human Systems. She was instrumental in designing and establishing arts programs, including intergenerational arts programs, for EngAGE.

The California Arts Council, a state agency, announced that it plans to award $54,000 to EngAGE as part of its Creative California Communities program. EngAGE is one of only forty-one grantees statewide for this program.
