Shawn is also currently writing a movie for famed writer/producer James L. Brooks. His other television credits include “Lie To Me,” “Angel,” “Nash Bridges” and “Life with Louie.”

After a disaster like the April tornadoes that devastated so many areas in the American mid-west and south, what do most people want to recover from the wreckage? Family photos. With winds that scattered debris over many miles, you might think it would be almost impossible to find those precious pictures, but there’s an unexpected source of help available: Facebook. A Facebook page was created specifically to help people identify and claim their lost photographs. And it’s working! Take a look here.
Talented EngAGE art instructor Randall Williams won Best Rendition of An Old Master at the 2011 Pasadena Chalk Festival, June 18 and 19 at Paseo Colorado. There were 600 participants in the festival. Randall’s prize? A five day cruise to Mexico! Congratulations, Randall!

The South Dakota Living Indian Treasure Award is presented by the governor of the state to an American Indian elder in recognition of their contributions to Native American art forms. Artists eligible for the award must live in South Dakota and be American Indians over the age of 55. Lakota artist Arthur Amiotte, the 2011 recipient, is internationally known for his expertise as a professional painter, art educator and cultural historian.

“The Central Oregon Council on Aging, a Redmond, Ore., senior-services agency, enrolled 70 people last year for tech training by teens from a nearby high school’s computer class, and 100 more are signed up this year. A Carmel, Ind., nonprofit, Net Literacy, enlists 400 to 600 middle- and high-school students each year for a senior tech-training program called ‘Senior Connects.’ And at New York’s Pace University, a popular service-learning program sends students to retirement facilities to teach seniors skills from email and online banking to Wii and video chat.”
