News from Long Beach Senior Arts Colony: Painting

Last month in the Art Workshop with teacher Tania Cruz, the students found inspiration in their natural surroundings — from cityscapes to skies to the port of Los Angeles. A collaborative chair-painting project caught the students’ interest and they watched with curiosity as an image was created on a three dimensional object and weather was articulated in paint. Students have enjoyed the challenge of looking to their immediate environment to find nature in an urban setting.
