News from Pac Arts: Regina Argentin Show Closing June 7th

Novel Concepts – Closing June 7th

This compelling show by Pac Arts resident Regina Argentin represents a new body of narrative paintings illustrating three film noir style, dystopian graphic novels she created. The intention was to create paintings that serve as illustrations but also stand on their own, in addition to the charcoal drawings that accompany the books. The pieces represent moments and sometimes overlapping images of novel highlights.

About the artist: Regina Argentin received her BFA at Art Center College in Pasadena. Upon graduation, she moved to NYC to pursue her passion as a professional fine artist. She participated in solo and group shows, and won several fellowship residencies.  She then returned to her native city of Los Angeles to work in the film industry as an art director. She continues to make fine art, exhibit, teach, and has also established her own fine and decorative art business.

She creates large abstract oil paintings on canvas with some representational qualities with ethereal themes.

Selected collectors: Lee Iacocca, F. Lee Bailey, Liz and Allan Johnson, Phil Everly, Jean Pierre Jeunet, Beverly Cohen, Carol Little, Neil Diamond, Citibank, Machinehead, Lord Montague

This event is supported, in part, by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Los Angeles County Arts Commission and by the California Arts Council.
