New Medicare cards are in the mail now to residents of California, Oregon, and several other locations. You may have received yours already. The purpose of the new cards is to replace your Social Security number identifier with something different in order to help prevent identity fraud.
Remember: Medicare will never call you uninvited and ask you to give personal or private information to get your new Medicare Number and card.
