CRAIG WATSON is the Director of the California Arts Council, the embattled state agency that has seen its budget hit hard in recent years. He has also served in leadership roles with the Arts Council for Long Beach, the Sonoma County Arts Council, Rural Arts Services in Northern California, and Santa Barbara Arts Services.  Tim Carpenter talks to Craig Watson about the state of the arts in California. LAURIE SCHUR transitioned into documentary film in her 50s after a 25-year career as a psychotherapist. She created the film, “The Beauty of Aging,” out of a desire to find inspiring models of aging for herself and other women. Laurie produced and directed a documentary short, “SCAT, The Story of ‘Scatman.'” John Larkin and produced and directed “Greedy for Life,” a 35-minute short on Shirley & Lavada, two of the women in The Beauty of Aging project.
