At Olivera Senior Apartments in Pomona, CA, artists work on a mountain scene with acrylic paint during Paint N Sip class. Although they all draw inspiration from the same image, everyone’s finished product is uniquely their own!

Residents at Coventry Court Senior Apartments in Tustin, CA, joined EngAGE Program Director Lourdes Torres in painting colorful flower pots for Spring.

At The Metro at Compton Senior Apartments in Compton, CA, the March monthly birthday celebration was combined with Mardi Gras for double the fun!

More Mardi Gras fun at Bella Vita in Carson, CA.

In Pomona, CA, cold temperatures in Southern California motivated the Portofino Villas Crochet Class members to make Infinity Scarves. They are now both fashionable and warm.

At Long Beach Senior Arts Colony in Long Beach, CA, residents received CPR Training from instructor Lisa Dauntain. Lisa covered Adult CPR & AED (use of an automated external defibrillator), with some child and infant CPR & AED as well. First aid techniques were also discussed and practiced.

Also at LBSAC, our generous community parter, SCAN, coordinated a special musical performance by social media influencers Jorge Narvaez, his daughter Alexa, and his mother, Esther. Through heartwarming storytelling and songs, we learned about their challenges and accomplishments, and the family ties that empower them. Jorge documents his family’s life on social media through Reality Changers, a nonprofit organization that transforms lives by providing youth from disadvantaged backgrounds with the academic support, financial assistance, and leadership training to become college graduates.

Ceramist Meriel Stern has been with ACE/121 in Glendale, CA, from nearly the beginning – she was one of the first instructors brought to the property. The residents love her classes and the children at ACE/121 are perhaps her most enthusiastic students. She’s offered a series of themed workshops ranging from Thanksgiving figurines to flower pots.

Nine artists from two different art classes proudly displayed their acrylic and watercolor paintings during Flower Park Plaza’s first art show in Santa Ana, CA. Artists were recognized and presented with a flower symbolizing our appreciation for their participation. The exhibition was up for a week for teachers, residents, and visitors to appreciate. Although none of the participants ever considered themselves “artists,” they are now rethinking the meaning of that term.
